Naturism—

Is it a Religion?—a Philosophy?—a Simple Oddball Pursuit?

The intention for presenting these pages is to answer those questions, others like them, make a political statement, draw some blood if necessary, and show you an unusual view of a way of life not normally open to the casual observer.

You will see that Naturism is not, on its own, a religion, but that it becomes one in response to actions taken by uninvolved, unknowledgeable outsiders. On its own, Naturism is no more than just a way of life devoid of cultural artifices.

You will discover Naturism practiced by members of all religions as a means to attain purity. Its simplicity requires no rites or magical practices, but allows for all faiths and secular persuasions, and enables a spirituality uncommon to experience. Naturism's ranks include vociferous Christians and Muslims who stand alongside quietly practicing atheists to defend this aspect of their beliefs.

You will read about Naturism's place in a cultural derived from artificiality. Does that make our culture a bad thing? No. I would not trade our technological innovations for a return to pre-horse and buggy conditions, and I feel like I am normal in that respect. Think how, in times like those, what an effort it would be to convey this message to very many people.
